Literary Gift Guide 2022

The arrival of the Christmas season brings a joy like no other. Built upon traditions—both those that belong to holiday festivities as a whole and those that belong to individual families—Christmas seems to blur the lines between past and present, reminding everyone who celebrates of their childhood, of days when the world seemed full of magic, wonder, love, and kindness aplenty. It truly is a magical time.

“Happy, happy Christmas, that can win us back to the delusions of our childish days; that can recall to the old man the pleasures of his youth; that can transport the sailor and the traveller, thousands of miles away, back to his own fire-side and his quiet home!”

– Charles Dickens, The Pickwick Papers

“Christmas, my child, is love in action. Every time we love, every time we give, it’s Christmas.”

– Dale Evans

Gift giving is a chance to treat those in your life to something you know will make them happy. In this Literary Gift Guide, I aimed to find items that will satisfy readers who love things that are classically bookish–bookmarks, tea, mugs–as well as more unique and unexpected literary items. Whether for family, friends, or as a little treat for yourself, there’s something for every reader in this Literary Gift Guide.

“The spirit of Christmas is the spirit of love and of generosity and of goodness. It illuminates the picture window of the soul, and we look out upon the world’s busy life and become more interested in people than in things.”

– Thomas S. Monson

“The manner of giving is worth more than the gift.”

– Pierre Corneille
